-Chris describes that in the forest he is surrounded by smells and sights of animals and plants.(page 10).

-In the forests there are many trees big and small everywhere Chris goes.(page 10).

Incongruousloy-adj. lacking in harmony or agreements of parts, ect., inappropriate
-Chris uses the word incongruously to describe a raven that he passes on his journey that isn't flying right.

Cordillera-n. a system or chains of mountians
- He explains how Denali National Park expanded through a cordillera. (page 11).

Anomaly-n. abnormality
-Then Chris explains that only hunters and trappers know the abnormality that lies within the woods. (page 11).

- Westerberg describes how that no matter what Alex, Chris, did he did it well and had very high standards. (page18).

Gypsum-n. a sulfate of calcium used to make plaster of Paris and cement
-Bud Walsh was sent to track bear-paw poppies and studying the soil filled with sulfate of calicium. (page 26).

-Chris describes his short lived Mexico adventure of paddling through the Morelos Dam and the Mexican border. (page 34).
